SAN ANTONIO 'EL GRANDE' Every first Sunday of August, for more than 70 years, Mogán has kept one of its most cherished traditions alive: the celebration of San Antonio "El Grande". This festivity has its origin in a promise made by the people of Mogán during a locust plague. The local men and women promised to embellish the image of Saint Anthony and to acquire a new processional throne if the Saint freed them from that curse. It is a promise that, generation after generation, continues to be fulfilled with devotion. Mass and Procession Sunday, 2 August | 7:30 p.m. Church of San Antonio de Padua (Mogán old town)
