The Promise”, by the artist Blanko (José Blanco Lago), a proposal that invites visitors to delve into the human psyche, emotions, identity, and the relationship with the territory through abstraction. The exhibition, organised by the municipal company Gestel and the Department of Culture of Telde City Council, will be inaugurated on 11 September at 7:00 p.m. The exhibition brings together 25 works and 33 paintings, grouped into eight series: Vanitas, Temperantia, Communitas, Natura, Inter Mare, Ventus, Vulcanus and Nebula. The artist has developed his own language that he calls “Abstract Symbolism”, in which form, colour and texture serve to convey concepts and reflections. The different series address issues such as the duality of the ego, inner balance, communities and migratory movements, nature, serenity, the strength of the wind and the volcanic origin of the Canary Islands. With more than two decades of residence in the Canary Islands, Blanko also establishes a dialogue between his work and the island environment, making this exhibition a journey through the inner world of the human being and their bond with the territory. Visiting hours From 11 to 30 September • Monday to Friday: from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. • Wednesday: from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. • Guided tour by the artist on 23 September at 6:00 p.m. Hall of the Hospital Church of San Pedro Mártir
