The coastal neighborhood of El Agujero will once again become the quintessential stage for Canarian culture and heritage with the celebration of a new edition of the Beñesmer Festival, which will take place on August 6, 7 and 8, 2026. Inspired by the ancestral “Harvest Festival”, in which the ancient Canary Islanders gave thanks to the land for the fruits gathered under the August moon, Beñesmer presents this year a diverse program that combines culture, reflection, tradition and outreach. The festival, organized by the Gáldar City Council through the Department of Identity headed by Carlos Ruiz Moreno, is inaugurating the La Guancha Interpretation Center as a new venue in this edition. This space will open the program with live music and will host “Beñesmer Chinijo”, an initiative that enriches the cultural offering and expands activities aimed at children and families.
