Details
🚺 La Aldea joins benzodiazepine prevention with the support of the Yrichen Foundation The City Council of La Aldea de San Nicolás, through the Department of Social Policy and Senior Citizens headed by Jennifer Sosa Martín, is joining efforts to prevent the consumption of benzodiazepines through the community project “No cargues tú sola” (“Don’t Carry It All by Yourself”) of the Canary Foundation Yrichen, which will take place on October 27. The program, funded by the Strategic Framework for Equality Gran Canaria Infinita (MEIGCI) of the Department of Equality and Diversity of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, aims to address the emotional factors that may influence the use of these medications and the development of possible dependencies, offering tools to identify risk situations and promote prevention. The first session, aimed at professionals in the social, health, educational fields and other related areas, will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., there will be a workshop for the general public. Both activities will be held in Classroom 1 of the Local Employment and Development Agency (AEDL), located at Calle Mariano de Cáceres, number 2. The Councillor for Social Policy and Senior Citizens, Jennifer Sosa, highlighted the importance of promoting preventive actions that make it possible to address the consumption of benzodiazepines from a social and emotional perspective, noting that “with these workshops we want to offer citizens tools to better understand the factors that may influence the use of these medications and to learn to identify situations that may lead to dependence.” Those interested in obtaining more information can write to the email address nocarguestusola@yrichen.org 🔗 https://laaldeasanicolas.es/la-aldea-de-san-nicolas-se-suma-a-la-prevencion-contra-las-benzodiacepinas-de-la-mano-de-la-fundacion-yrichen/
