The Cultural and Musical Association Los Jallaos Roniaos continues this summer with its commitment to promoting the historical, cultural and ethnographic heritage of Gran Canaria. Next Saturday, August 8, Route 122 will take place: "Santa María de Guía 2. El Cenobio, Salto y los Altos de Guía", an itinerary to discover some of the most representative places in the municipality. The route includes a visit to the Cenobio de Valerón, one of the most important aboriginal communal granaries in the archipelago; the Hermitage of Montaña Alta; the Casa del Queso (Cheese House), where you can learn about the tradition and the Protected Designation of Origin of Queso de Flor de Guía; and a demonstration of Salto del Pastor, one of the most unique expressions of traditional Canarian sports. An opportunity to discover the historical richness of Santa María de Guía, enjoy the landscapes of Montaña Alta and get closer to one of the most renowned gastronomic traditions of Gran Canaria.
