🥑🌱 TRAINING 2026 | NEW AVOCADO PLANTATIONS IN SANTA BRÍGIDA The Department of Primary Sector, Food Sovereignty and Water Security of the Island Council of Gran Canaria is organizing the in-person course A-8/26 “New avocado plantations”, to learn how to plan, establish and manage new avocado plantations. 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾 📅 28 and 29 October 2026. 🕓 From 16:00 to 20:00. 📍 Agricultural Extension Agency of Santa Brígida, c/ Acequia del Palmera, s/n. 👥 20 places available. ⏳ Registration open until 21 October 2026. 📚 During the course, the following topics will be covered: 🥑 Characteristics of avocado: races, varieties and rootstocks. 🚜 Land preparation and planting layout. 🌸 Selection of varieties and pollinizers. 💧 Irrigation and fertilization. 🌿 Plant health control and formative pruning. 👨‍🏫 Training delivered by Antonio Bello González, agricultural technical engineer. ✅ Priority will be given to farmers from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Brígida, Vega de San Mateo and Tejeda.
