‘Tristana’ | Chamber Opera The body, desire and freedom run through this new interpretation of ‘Tristana’, the work inspired by the novel by Benito Pérez Galdós that arrives at Teatro Pérez Galdós in the form of a contemporary opera. With a libretto by Jorge Volpi and original music by Miguel Huertas, the production brings the story into the present, in dialogue with the cinematic universe of Luis Buñuel and Julio Alejandro. A staging where words, music and images coexist to create an intense and deeply contemporary experience. Screens, live cameras and a score for piano, cello and percussion accompany characters who are trapped between love, power and the need to break with everything.
