Barranquillo Andrés and Soria celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Andrew from August 21 to 30 The neighbourhoods of Barranquillo Andrés and Soria are getting ready to celebrate their festivities in honour of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Andrew, from August 21 to 30, with a wide programme of leisure, religious, traditional and sports activities. Organised by the Guapil Neighbourhood Association, with the collaboration of the Mogán Town Council, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and private companies, the celebrations will begin on Friday 21 with the decoration of the streets, the opening address by Nuria Ramos Vargas and the Escala en Hi-Fi Gala. One of the most anticipated moments will come on Saturday 22 with the Romería-Ofrenda pilgrimage, which will set off from Soria at 7:00 p.m. and will be followed by an open-air dance with Dúo Purpurina. The programme also includes comedy and music events, children's activities, bouncy castles, a popular barbecue, soloist gatherings, the Parrandera Night "Manolín Ramos", the traditional Bajada del Parrón and the Verbena de Amanecida (dawn dance), among other events. On Sunday, August 30, the main religious event will take place with the celebration of the Eucharist and the subsequent procession through the streets of Barranquillo Andrés and Soria.
