Santa Brígida with Wines 2026
Details
🍷 From November 1 to 29, the Santa Brígida City Council pays tribute to the municipality’s wine-growing tradition, its role in history and the landscape, and its cultural legacy. The Casa del Vino hosted this morning the presentation of “Santa Brígida con Vinos 2026”, an event attended by the mayor of the town, José Armengol; the Councillor for Rural Development, Carmen Juez; and the Primary Sector Councillor of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Miguel Hidalgo. Also present were the president of the Wine Route, Sandra Armas; the president of the Wine Regulatory Council, Pedro Suárez; the manager of the Gran Canaria Wine Route, Álvaro González; and several members of the municipal corporation. The mayor recalled that “vine cultivation has shaped a landscape of hillsides, volcanic soils and small family farms”, which “concentrates 23.5% of the vineyard area of Gran Canaria, with around 50 hectares under cultivation, 25 winegrowers registered in the PDO and nine active wineries, figures that reflect the importance of our winemaking tradition”. For her part, the Councillor for Rural Development outlined the thirteenth edition of a programme that “will begin with the blessing of the wine and will conclude with an ethnographic route through one of the most representative landscapes of the wine-growing environment of Santa Brígida. Between these two dates, residents and visitors will be able to take part in experiences aimed both at those who wish to deepen their knowledge of wine and those who want to enjoy music, gastronomy and local heritage, with tastings, sound pairings, visits to wineries, wines and boleros, concerts, shows, wine night, dinner in the dark and professional meetings”. The Primary Sector Councillor congratulated the City Council and recalled that “Santa Brígida is one of the great wine references of Gran Canaria thanks to the knowledge passed down through generations and the efforts of winegrowers and winemakers who keep the culture of wine alive”. Of the 17 activities, ten require prior registration. 🗞️ Read the full news item at santabrigida.es. You will also find the programme at www.santabrigidaconvinos.es
