De Raíz Latinoamericana Concert
Details
FROM LATIN AMERICAN ROOTS There are kinds of music that entertain. And there are others that remember. From Latin American Roots is born from the desire to once again listen to the deep voice of our Pachamama: the one that lives in the mountains, in the clay, in the rivers, in the memory of the people and in the hearts of those who still feel that song can be a bridge between the past and the present. Zamarae: four women who are guardians of memory, nature and song. They are Maja Carcano, the witch woman. Helena González, the mystical girl. Esther Guerra, the priestess. Indaya Guadalupe, the ancestral warrior, and with the strength of Laura Márquez on drums and percussion, the rhythmic heart of this journey. Four voices and percussion will dialogue as the ancient peoples used to do: without artifice, allowing the pulse of the earth to sustain each melody. The repertoire will travel through different territories of Latin America, from the coplas of the Altiplano to songs in Quechua and other traditional expressions that preserve the memory of our peoples. Each song will be a landscape, a language, a different way of understanding the world and inhabiting song. From Latin American Roots is a celebration of that which came before us. A song that awakens what is ancestral to remind us, from this present, that we have not forgotten where we come from. Because when we return to the origin, we also find who we are. We invite you to share a night where voices intertwine with the drum, memory with the present, and music with the soul. Friday, 18 September · 9:00 pm Buenos Aires Jazz Café Calle Mendizabal 37 May the root bloom again in each one of us.
