Cuentos a la luz de la Luna – Solidarity Lunar Stargazing

🌙 Gáldar is getting ready to enjoy some very special nights under the sky of the Medianías and Altos areas of the municipality with a charitable lunar astronomical observation: “Stories by Moonlight”, which will take place on September 18 and 19, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., in a UNESCO site in Juncalillo. This free initiative is part of the International Observe the Moon Night, a global public event that promotes observation and understanding of our satellite and its relationship with space science, exploration, and human culture. ❤️‍🩹 Beyond its educational and cultural nature, the initiative has a strong charitable component. Attendees will be able to make voluntary contributions to the campaign “So the Monster Doesn’t Turn Off Its Stars”, promoted by the Federation of Astronomical Associations of Spain together with CRIS against Cancer and The Monster in My Head. The campaign seeks to raise awareness of DIPG (diffuse midline glioma with H3 K27M mutation), one of the deadliest childhood cancers, and to help drive research into this disease. ➡ Although the activity is free of charge, prior registration is required due to the nature of the event.
