Perimenopause Health Day: Nutrition and Supplementation
Details
Health Days on Perimenopause · Hotel Livvo Lumm, LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA · Organized by Nayra Gómez and Gaby Almeida, CEOs of Menopausia en Red 11 September from 18:00 to 20:00 A new Menopausia en Red meeting dedicated to an area full of myths and solutions sold without any basis: what the evidence really says about nutrition during the climacteric, and what role supplementation does — and does not — play. In this session, we address, with clinical rigor and without miracle promises, which dietary adjustments have scientific support during perimenopause and menopause, and how to distinguish evidence-based supplementation from that which only follows trends. This event was created to offer a rigorous, up-to-date and practical space to understand what is happening inside your body and how to support it with sound judgment. Nutrition in the climacteric What really changes in nutritional needs during perimenopause and menopause (protein, calcium, fiber) — and what does not change, despite what certain “for menopause” diets claim. Nutrition and low-grade inflammation: what role dietary patterns play in the low-grade chronic inflammation characteristic of this stage. Bone health: which nutritional support has real backing against loss of bone density. Common myths: detox diets, strict fasting and other trends that circulate without solid evidence for this stage. Evidence-based supplementation Supplements with real evidence vs. fad supplementation: what distinguishes one from the other. How to read a label and what to ask a professional before starting to take supplements. Self-prescription vs. individualization: why “what worked for someone else” is not a clinical criterion. Lesser-discussed risks: interactions, lack of regulation in the supplements market, and over-supplementation. Led by Nayra Gómez.
