Canarias Jazz & Más: Hamilton de Holanda Trio & Manon Mullener 5tet
Details
The 35th Canarias Jazz & Más International Festival kicks off an intense musical month of July, from July 4 to 26, with a programme that brings together 61 concerts in 25 venues across the eight islands. The event in Santa Brígida, which is free of charge, will take place on July 18 at 7:30 p.m. on a large open-air stage in the Municipal Park, which will host two of the most brilliant and renowned acts on the international jazz scene: Hamilton de Holanda Trio and Manon Mullener 5tet. ▪️Hamilton de Holanda Trio The audience in Santa Brígida will have the chance to enjoy live a living legend of contemporary music. Hamilton de Holanda, unanimously described as a "virtuoso, brilliant and unique" creator, has built up a stellar career crowned with multiple Latin Grammy Awards. He appears in trio format, accompanied by the formidable Salomão Soares (keyboards and Moog) and Thiago “Big” Rabello (drums). Together they will present their acclaimed Live in NYC (Sony Music Brasil), recorded at the legendary Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center and winner of the Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album, which sails between choro, jazz, samba and the edges of contemporary avant-garde. ▪️Manon Mullener 5tet The evening is rounded off with the freshness and magnetism of Swiss pianist and composer Manon Mullener, a rising star of the European avant-garde, who comes with tremendous critical acclaim that places her, in the words of the prestigious France Musique network, as “the future of European jazz”. Mullener presents the tracks from her latest album, STORIES, recorded in New York. Accompanied by her quintet, she will offer a musical journey of modern textures under a strong influence of Afro-Cuban rhythms. The Santa Brígida Town Council invites residents and visitors to this great night under the stars, when the town will dress up for a magical and virtuosic evening.
