Barranquillo Andrés and Soria celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Andrew from August 21 to 30 The neighbourhoods of Barranquillo Andrés and Soria are getting ready to celebrate their festivities in honour of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Andrew, from August 21 to 30, with a wide programme of leisure, religious, traditional, and sports activities. Organised by the Guapil Neighbourhood Association, with the collaboration of the Mogán Town Council, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, and private companies, the celebrations will begin on Friday the 21st with the street decorations, the opening proclamation delivered by Nuria Ramos Vargas, and the Escala en Hi-Fi Gala. One of the most eagerly awaited moments will take place on Saturday the 22nd with the Romería-Ofrenda, which will set off from Soria at 7:00 p.m. and will be followed by an open-air dance with Dúo Purpurina. The programme also includes comedy and music events, children’s activities, bouncy castles, a community barbecue, soloist gatherings, the Parranda Night “Manolín Ramos”, the traditional Bajada del Parrón, and the Dawn Dance, among other events. On Sunday, August 30, the main religious event will take place with the celebration of the Eucharist and the subsequent procession through the streets of Barranquillo Andrés and Soria.
