Arucas celebrates "A Summer of Cinema" with six free screenings at El Puertillo beach The series will run from 7 to 22 August with a programme designed for all audiences, combining major recent releases and essential cinema classics. The Arucas City Council, through the Department of Culture, is organising a new edition of "A Summer of Cinema", an initiative that will turn El Puertillo beach into an open-air cinema during the month of August. From 7 to 22 August, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy six free screenings, all of them at 9:30 p.m., in a privileged setting by the sea. The programme combines family films, adventure, action and great classics, offering options for audiences of all ages. The series will begin on Friday 7 August with "How to Train Your Dragon" (2025), while on Saturday 8 August it will be the turn of the fantasy comedy "Night at the Museum" (2006). The programme will continue on Friday 14 August with one of the great classics of suspense cinema, "Jaws" (1975), followed on Saturday 15 August by "Superman" (2025). The series will go on on Friday 21 August with "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" (2024) and will conclude on Saturday 22 August with another unforgettable classic for the whole family, "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" (1982). The Councillor for Culture highlights that "with A Summer of Cinema we continue to take cultural programming beyond conventional venues, making summer in Arucas also an opportunity to come together and enjoy the seventh art, valuing respectful coexistence with the environment in one of our jewels: the coast of Arucas". With this initiative, Arucas City Council reaffirms its commitment to a diverse, free and accessible cultural programme, promoting the use of public spaces as places for meeting and coexistence, and offering quality leisure alternatives during the summer season.
