The Artisophia Foundation is once again presenting its Peace Culture Awards, with three truly outstanding award winners whom we will welcome at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium: writer Elsa López, actress Rossy de Palma, and international star Dulce Pontes, in a gala that includes an intimate anthology concert by the Portuguese diva. * Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Celebrating 35 years of her career, Dulce Pontes is undoubtedly an essential voice not only for fado lovers, but for music in general. Proof of this is her encounter with the great Ennio Morricone, with whom she forged a deep friendship and recorded several iconic soundtracks such as “The Mission” and “Cinema Paradiso”. This professional relationship culminated in the album Focus in 2003, as well as in the acclaimed world tours they performed together until the end of the Maestro’s career. “The miracle of her voice is that it seems to come from a world where pain does not exist.” A pianist, composer and performer, her hit "Canção do Mar"—released worldwide in 1993 and one of the international audience’s favorite songs—established her as a renovator of fado, thus following in the footsteps of the great Amália Rodrigues, but also as an international singer who is not bound to a single musical genre. Her incredible artistic talent, classical training and cultural sensitivity have taken her all over the world, collaborating with leading artists from different latitudes.
