To Sing and Dance Is to Live
Details
A troupe from the Department of Art and Culture of the School of Poetry and Psychoanalysis Grupo Cero will travel to the Canary Islands to offer an inclusive cultural showcase of the different artistic expressions that we develop in Madrid within our institution and have staged in 15 cultural centres in Madrid. This is a performance of approximately 75 minutes that proposes a journey through some of the great themes of human existence: love, passion, desire, work, time and creation. The central axis of the proposal is the work of the poet, doctor and psychoanalyst Miguel Oscar Menassa, founder of Grupo Cero, whose poems enter into dialogue with tango, flamenco, song and classical music, giving rise to an artistic encounter of great expressive richness. Through poetry, music and dance, the artists show that living does not consist merely in letting time pass, but in enjoying, in taking a stand towards life, becoming involved in what one loves and sustaining a creative relationship with the world. The presentation of the show will be given by Pino Lorenzo, a Grupo Cero psychoanalyst in the Canary Islands, who will introduce the different moments of the performance and present the artists. Participants: • Pino Lorenzo – Presentation • Maestro Manuel Valencia – Piano and artistic direction • Kepa Ríos – Flamenco guitar, singing and musicalized poetry • Virginia Valdominos “The Gypsy Angel” – Flamenco dance and operatic singing • Norma Menassa "The Bride of Buenos Aires" – Tango and recitation accompanying the dance
