Romería Ofrenda to Santiago de los Caballeros in Gáldar
Details
Gáldar is getting ready for one of the most eagerly awaited and moving days of the 544th Main Festivities of Santiago. This Saturday, July 18, the city celebrates its traditional Offering Pilgrimage to Santiago de los Caballeros, an event in which faith, customs, and folklore once again fill the streets of the historic center with life. From 5:30 p.m. onwards, the carts from the different districts and neighborhoods of the municipality will make their way through the heart of Gáldar, loaded with products from our land to pay tribute to the Holy Patron, accompanied by musical groups and folk groups that will provide the soundtrack to one of the most representative scenes of our festivities. From the Gáldar Town Council, we encourage everyone attending to come dressed in traditional clothing or typical Canary Islands attire, thus helping to keep alive the essence and character of a pilgrimage that stands out for its respect for our roots and traditions. The day will culminate with the arrival of the offering at the Temple-Sanctuary of Santiago, the opening of its doors to receive the pilgrims, and the traditional Baile de Taifa, providing the perfect finale to a day to share, celebrate, and feel the pride of being from Gáldar. Experience the Pilgrimage, live our traditions, and be part of one of the major dates in the festive calendar of Gran Canaria! More information at galdar.es
