Arucas, capital of music with the SUM Festival 2026 Arucas, 29 September 2026. - The three public administrations, Arucas Town Council, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and the Government of the Canary Islands celebrate the success of the call for the Gran Canaria SUM Festival in the municipality of Arucas. The director and organiser of this national music event, Juan Francisco Senabre Pastor, presented this Tuesday the details of the Gran Canaria SUM Festival, which will be held this weekend in the Antonio Afonso Moreno “Tonono” sports complex. At the presentation of the event, the mayor of Arucas, Juan Jesús Facundo, the Councillor for the Presidency, Teodoro Sosa, the Director of Institutional Relations of Turismo Islas Canarias, Javier Prieto, and Manolo Afonso, regional director of CaixaBank, as main sponsor, all highlighted the cultural impact and tourist appeal of this event, which has been consolidated in Gran Canaria for seven years and which will be held in Arucas for the first time. This festival, which will bring together seventeen national bands, will take place in the municipality of Arucas on 2 and 3 October. A weekend is coming in which not only music will be the main attraction, but also gastronomy. A cultural offering that will attract visitors from both within and outside the islands. The mayor of Arucas stressed the importance of holding this event not only for the town but also for the north and the island in general. An event that boosts the island’s cultural offering and has a direct impact on local economic development and the tourism promotion of the municipality. A music festival open to all kinds of alternative and diverse proposals, from roots to indie, whose line-up consists of KIMERA, REPION, VEINTIUNO, WALLS, CARLOS ARES, ULTRALIGERA, MISS CAFFEINA, NIL MOLINER, ARCO, CHAMBAO, ARA MALIKIAN, SEXY ZEBRAS, SAMURAÏ, LA CASA AZUL, LA LA LOVE YOU, SILOÉ and DORIAN. To make it easier to attend, the organisation is providing shuttle buses for the public, which will depart from the sports centre to the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, on Friday at 00:30 and on Saturday at 13:15.
