Decimanía de Puerto Rico arrives in the Canary Islands with a proposal that brings together traditional Puerto Rican and Canarian music through the décima, the cuatro and the timple. A musical gathering with the troubadours Omar and Shamira Santiago and Roberto Silva, together with Canarian artist Yeray Rodríguez. Decimanía de Puerto Rico, an organization devoted to the preservation and promotion of traditional Puerto Rican music and, especially, of the décima, arrives in the Canary Islands with a proposal that builds bridges between both sides of the Atlantic. The show will bring together the Nieves Maldonado family, along with cuatro player Christian Nieves, the troubadours Omar and Shamira Santiago and Roberto Silva. They will be joined by the Canarian Yeray Rodríguez, in an encounter between the cuatro and the timple, and between the traditions of punto cubano and Puerto Rican music. Boleros, guarachas, seis and aguinaldos will round off this celebration of music with deep roots. The proposal inaugurates the Noches del Rincón (Nights at the Corner) series and marks the beginning of the collaboration of Yeray Rodríguez with the Auditorio y Teatro de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Foundation as Artist in Residence during the 2026/2027 season.
