FIC Gáldar 2026 – 14th Short Film Festival
Details
🎬 Historic record at FIC Gáldar 2026! FIC Gáldar 2026 has closed its call for entries with 915 works submitted, surpassing the 856 received in the previous edition and consolidating itself as one of the benchmark festivals for national and international short films. 🌍 What will be its most international edition to date has brought together short films from 35 countries, with a total of 387 international productions and a notable presence of emerging film industries. 🎥 One of the most relevant data points of this call is once again the growing female presence. More than 50% of the Canarian short films submitted are directed by women, a figure that reaches 35% in national productions and in the Official Section, reflecting the increasingly prominent role of women creators in the audiovisual scene. 🏆 From October 10 to 17, FIC Gáldar will hold its 14th edition, taking a new step in its trajectory by debuting as a qualifying festival for the Fugaz Awards, a recognition that adds to its status as a preselection festival for the Goya Awards. 🎞️ An edition that will once again turn Gáldar into a meeting point for talent, creativity, and the best stories told in short film format. A historic edition awaits us! ℹ️ More information at galdar.es
