La Aldea will once again be present at the Romería-Ofrenda del Pino La Aldea de San Nicolás will once again take part in the traditional Romería-Ofrenda in honor of Our Lady of El Pino, one of the most representative events of the patron saint festivities of Gran Canaria, which will be held next September 7. During the meeting held this Wednesday at the headquarters of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, the starting order of the municipal wagons was announced, with La Aldea occupying the third position in the procession, after Teror and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. Just like Mogán, the municipality of La Aldea maintains this position due to its geographical remoteness, a measure that facilitates the organization and participation of both groups in this large celebration that every year brings together the municipalities of the island around their traditions, folklore, and cultural identity. The Councillor for Culture, Víctor Juan Hernández, stressed that “the Romería-Ofrenda del Pino is one of the most important expressions of the cultural identity of Gran Canaria, and for La Aldea it represents a unique opportunity to share with the rest of the island the heritage, traditions, and sense of belonging that define us.” From La Aldea Town Council we continue working so that our municipality is once again represented at this very special event, taking to Teror a sample of our roots, our customs, and the commitment of a community that keeps its traditions alive generation after generation. 📷: Department of Culture of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria
