🐄🌍 TRAINING 2026 | PREVENTION OF CLIMATE CHANGE IN LIVESTOCK FARMING 🌱 The Department of Primary Sector, Food Sovereignty and Water Security of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria is organizing the course G-9/26 “Prevention of climate change in livestock farming”, to learn how to reduce the environmental impact of livestock activity and apply adaptation and mitigation measures on farms. 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾 📅 From 16 to 22 October 2026 🕓 From 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 📍 Experimental Agricultural Farm of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Arucas 👥 20 planned places ⏳ Registration until 12 October 📚 During the course, the following will be covered: 🌡️ Climate change and its effects in the Canary Islands. 🐐 Its relationship with agriculture and livestock farming. 🛠️ Livestock practices to adapt and reduce emissions. 📊 Technical and economic feasibility of the measures. 🌿 Organic livestock farming, soil and organic matter. ♻️ Circular economy and farms that are more climate-resilient. 🎯 Complementary training aimed preferably at owners of livestock farms in Gran Canaria. 👩‍🏫 Lecturer: Isis del Carmen Castellano Hernández, graduate in Veterinary Medicine. 👨‍⚕️ Management: Nicolás Navarro Guerra del Río, veterinary technician of the Service of Agricultural Extension and Agricultural and Fisheries Development. 📋 Selection: preference will be given to owners or workers of dairies with a Health Registry.
