Institutional Manifesto Reading for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
Details
The Arucas City Council, through the Department of Equal Opportunities Policies between Women and Men, has presented the program of events for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which will be held on November 25. The mayor of Arucas, Juan Jesús Facundo, and the councilor for the area, Beatriz Herrera Suárez, highlighted at a press conference the institutional commitment of the council in the fight against violence against women, which is reflected in the constant work carried out by all the departments with the aim of continuing to move towards a more just and equal society. The program designed for this edition includes training, awareness-raising and educational activities, through which the prevention of gender-based violence and equality will be addressed from different perspectives. This edition includes a program that goes beyond the usual venues to reach every neighborhood and all generations with the same message: Faced with male violence, we cannot look the other way. The schedule of activities includes talks, workshops, artistic and sports activities, with two particularly significant events: the 15th Zero Tolerance Race against Gender Violence, which will be held on November 21; and on November 25, in Plaza de la Constitución, the Reading of the Institutional Manifesto at 12:00 p.m. and other activities that will begin at 10:00 in the morning. The Arucas City Council will facilitate attendance at the demonstration that will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, convened by the Feminist Network for Gran Canaria - 25 N, by offering free transport departing at 6:00 p.m. from the Arucas Seniors Center.
