Insular Band Meeting of Gran Canaria ‘D. Ruperto Armas Reyes’
Details
🎼 The Santa Brígida Cultural Center will be the venue this Saturday, October 10 at 12:00 p.m. for the Gran Canaria Island Band Music Gathering "D. Ruperto Armas Reyes", an event that will bring together three musical ensembles from the island: the Municipal Band of Music of the City of Guía, the Guayedra Musical Ensemble of Agaete, and the Santa Brígida Band of Music. The program, which began on September 20 at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium with the opening concert, now continues its tour through different municipalities of Gran Canaria under the slogan "Marches of the World". The proposal invites the public to embark on a very special musical journey through different countries via some of the most representative marches of their musical traditions, highlighting the richness and diversity of band music and its ability to incorporate different traditions and styles. The Island Gathering is named after Ruperto Armas Reyes, a figure closely linked to the promotion and consolidation of the band movement in Gran Canaria and one of the main driving forces behind the Gran Canaria Federation of Bands of Music. Admission to the concert is free until full capacity is reached.
