La Aldea de San Nicolás opens registration for the long-awaited 2026 Cultural Contest Teams interested will have until 11:59 p.m. on the upcoming 20 August to sign up. The following day, 21 August, an organizational meeting will be held in the Plenary Hall. It will take place from Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 August. The City Council of La Aldea de San Nicolás, through the Department of Culture, announces the official opening of the registration period to participate in the 2026 Cultural Contest. This competition, which is already a classic and one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino, returns once again to put to the test the knowledge, wit, and good humor of the residents of La Aldea. All groups of friends, families, or associations who wish to join this fun initiative have until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, 20 August, to complete their registration. The organizers encourage everyone to start forming their teams, thinking of a good name, and getting ready to enjoy an event where, beyond winning or losing, what truly matters is coming together, sharing knowledge about our land, and having a great time laughing with neighbors. Likewise, the Department of Culture informs that once the registration period has closed, an informational and coordination meeting will be held with all participating teams. This preparatory meeting will take place the following day, Friday 21 August, at 6:00 p.m. in the Plenary Hall of the City Council. During the meeting, the dynamics of this edition will be explained, the rules will be reviewed, and any questions will be answered so that everything runs perfectly. The Cultural Contest has become an ideal space to highlight the history, anecdotes, and customs of our municipality and of the Canary Islands in general. This activity might be for you if you'd like to achieve more of your goals *without* *having to learn new tricks, explore your blocks or powering through difficulties.* Accountability groups take advantage of innate human hardwiring that has us respond to social triggers that are almost impossible to resist. In other words, **accountability groups leverage our social natures for our advantage.** In this session we will learn a little more about accountability, we'll talk about goal setting and we'll share a specific goal (or goals). The power of accountability is in the practice of it! You'll have the opportunity to set an achievable goal, say it in fromt of the other participants, and then follow up in a few days to say if you did it or not. We check in online every Saturday and meet in person every other Thursday. **What to Bring:** A curious mind, any questions, an idea of what you'd like to achieve, and a little courage to speak it in front of others.
