Invictus Ocean Documentary Screening
Details
🎬🌊 Documentary screening According to UNHCR data, by the end of 2025, approximately 5.86 million refugees from Ukraine were still outside their country and another 3.7 million were displaced within its borders as a consequence of the war. In this context, the Biblioteca Pública del Estado in Las Palmas is hosting a screening of “Invictus Ocean”, a documentary that tells the extraordinary story of two Ukrainians who rowed across the Atlantic Ocean on a solidarity expedition. An adventure of endurance and commitment, undertaken with the purpose of raising awareness about the human impact of the war in Ukraine and supporting the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers. 🎥 Directed and written by Oleksandr Bragin, the documentary features Iván Gavrilko and Dmytro Rezvoi, who faced a journey marked by effort, uncertainty and determination. The production is supported by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, within the framework of the programme “Art in the Frame”, and combines the account of this experience with an artistic and human perspective on solidarity and the capacity to overcome adversity. A true story that invites us to reflect on human strength, hope and the value of solidarity in the face of adversity. 📅 Saturday, 24 October 🕛 12:00 p.m. 📍 Biblioteca Pública del Estado in Las Palmas 🎟️ Free admission until full capacity is reached We look forward to seeing you!
