Popular Talk: Know to Conserve
Details
“Know to Conserve” arrives in San Bartolomé de Tirajana “Know to Conserve. Unique flora, shared future” is an outreach campaign promoted by the Island Council of Gran Canaria, through the Canary Botanical Garden “Viera y Clavijo” – CSIC Associated Unit, to bring citizens closer to the value and fragility of the island’s threatened flora. The campaign arrives in San Bartolomé de Tirajana with a travelling exhibition and a programme including an outreach talk and an interpretative walk, which will make it possible to discover threatened endemic plants present in the municipality’s Protected Natural Areas, which are the subject of Recovery Plans. Through these activities, people will be able to better understand the uniqueness of our flora, the main threats affecting the species, and the work being carried out to promote their conservation and recovery. The initiative also seeks to encourage citizen participation and awareness, because knowing our natural heritage is the first step towards contributing to its conservation. 📅 Activities in SAN BARTOLOMÉ DE TIRAJANA 🔹Travelling exhibition From 26 October to 08 November 2026 at the Ciudad Deportiva de San Fernando 🔹Outreach talk Thursday 05 November – 18:00 Conference room of the Centro Cultural Maspalomas.
