Basic Healthy Canarian Cooking Course
Details
The Vicerectorate for Culture, Sports and Society, through its Cultural Classroom Science & Gastronomy, is once again organizing the course on Healthy Canarian Cuisine (first edition). The event features the participation of HUB GastroFood and the DISA Foundation. Main objectives: a) To disseminate and provide training in the basic fundamentals of Canarian Culinary Arts, carrying out initial practical work to be able to manage in a kitchen. b) To raise awareness about the selection and prioritization of locally sourced products from the primary sector produced in the Canary Islands. c) To train participants in healthy eating patterns and in the proper use of raw materials in the kitchen. d) To generate a cultural debate on these topics within the University Community and in Society. The course instructor, Mr. Luis Benítez Castellano, will give an introduction to the course, highlighting the local products used and the culinary techniques to be applied, and will guide the development of at least two culinary preparations in each session, designing a technical sheet for the recipes made.
