Indigenist art crosses the Atlantic and arrives at the Agáldar Museum with the exhibition “Oliva Lara. The Last American Indigenist Painter”, a show that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the artist’s arrival in the Canary Islands and his special connection with the Islands. The selection, whose opening will take place on Friday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m., can be visited from October 9 to November 15 and brings together some of the main thematic lines of the work of Enrique Oliva Lara, an artist of American origin whose career was marked by his loyalty to Indigenism and by his connection with pre-Hispanic tradition. Color, repetition and sequentiality are some of the elements that characterize his pictorial language and that can be discovered in this exhibition, curated by Javier Cabrera.
