The Science Behind Near-Death Experiences
Details
And what if death did not happen exactly as we have been told? Near-death experiences (NDEs) represent a challenge to current science because neurological and neurophysiological theories, and approaches based on molecular biology and the behavioral sciences, are still unable to predict why some patients in reversible clinical death manage to be resuscitated, recalling impossible perceptions and experiences, while others, after resuscitation, remember nothing. In this training seminar we will present the theoretical foundations of death, explain what happens in the brain when we die, and whether it is possible for lucid memories to occur under biologically impossible conditions.
