Elina Garanča returns to meet the Gran Canarian audience under the baton of Karel Mark Chichon. In this concert, considered one of the major events of the season of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the great concerts of the OFGC season, the mezzo-soprano will perform the Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss and will take on the role of cantaora in The Three-Cornered Hat by Manuel de Falla, on the 150th anniversary of his birth. The program is completed with the Spanish premiere of Timepiece, by Cindy McTee Slatkin. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Mezzo-soprano Elina Garanča, one of the great figures on the international opera scene, returns with the OFGC in one of the season’s most outstanding concerts. Under the direction of Karel Mark Chichon, she will perform for the first time in Gran Canaria Richard Strauss’s Four Last Songs, one of the most moving works from the composer’s final period, written after the devastation of the Second World War. Garanča will also lend her voice as cantaora in the complete version of The Three-Cornered Hat by Manuel de Falla, with which the orchestra commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of the composer from Cádiz.
