Interpretive Hike in Cuermeja for International Day of Rural Women

👵🏻 La Aldea commemorates the International Day of Rural Women with a guided walk in Cuermeja To mark the International Day of Rural Women, celebrated every 15th of October, the Town Council of La Aldea de San Nicolás, through the Department of Social Policy and Seniors headed by Jennifer Sosa Martín, has scheduled a guided walk in the surroundings of Cuermeja for next Wednesday, September 30. The event is held in collaboration with the municipalities of Tejeda, Valleseco and Artenara under the motto “We keep walking together”. Departure is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. from the end of the canal road, in Cuermeja, with return to the starting point planned for 12:00 p.m. This activity is free of charge and open to the entire population, both women and men. Among the technical recommendations, it is stated that mountain footwear is mandatory, as well as a cap, water, breakfast and sun protection. “This initiative seeks to pay an active tribute to the rural women of our municipality and of the Gran Canaria summit, recognizing the fundamental role they have historically played in shaping our villages,” highlighted the Councillor for Social Policy and Seniors, Jennifer Sosa Martín.
