After decades exploring rock, Cuban son, R&B, and the fringes of jazz, the artist from Zaragoza now delves into Greek music with the project NERANTZI, the result of a collaboration with two outstanding Hellenic musicians: bouzouki master Vaggelis Tzeretas and singer-guitarist Theodoros Karellas. Recorded at 133 Studios in Athens, NERANTZI offers a carefully curated selection of original compositions and 20th-century classics, gems of popular rebetiko and Mediterranean ballads adapted into Spanish by Auserón himself. The album, to be released on October 10, 2025 in CD-book and vinyl formats, will feature collaborations with other top-level Greek musicians and the special participation of Spanish singer Anni B Sweet. Santiago Auserón (Zaragoza, 1954) is one of the key figures in Spanish popular music. Founder of the legendary band Radio Futura, he has developed a brilliant solo career as Juan Perro, combining sonic exploration with philosophy and literature for more than four decades. He is currently touring with his new project La Academia Nocturna. Vaggelis Tzeretas, originally from the island of Samos, is a virtuoso of the bouzouki and other traditional Greek instruments. With a long career in folk music and an openness to fusing with other styles, he is renowned for his versatility and refined musical sensitivity. Theodoros Karellas is a prominent figure on the Athens music scene. His popular baritone voice and polished guitar style have made him one of the leading performers of contemporary rebetiko and modern Greek song. Anni B Sweet collaborates on one track
