Arucas once again becomes a national benchmark for ham carving The Municipal Gardens of Arucas will host next Friday, October 23, at 7:30 p.m., a masterclass framed within the 4th National Ham Carving Contest of Arucas “Aníbal Falcón” 2026. The event will bring together leading professionals in the sector. As speakers, Pedro José Pérez Casco, a training specialist, and Anselmo Pérez Álvarez, Spain’s champion in 2011, will take part. On the knives will be Pablo Martínez Pérez, Spain’s champion in 2017; Desiderio Sebastián de Almendral, Spain’s champion in 2023; José Falcón Morales, Dehesa de Extremadura champion 2025; and Arucas native Aníbal Falcón Morales, Spain’s champion in 2019. This fourth edition also comes after the contest held in Arucas in 2025 was recognized by the National Association of Ham Carvers (ANCJ) as the best national competition in the sector, highlighting its organization and its contribution to the profession.
