Summer Book Club: East of Eden
Details
"And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good," One of the many great quotes from this masterpiece, frequently considered among the greatest novels of all time. The author, John Steinbeck, viewed it as his magnum opus, pouring everything he knew about the human condition and the craft of writing into it. We're going to meet every other Thursday, bringing our favorite quotes or passages to share. We'll decide at each event when we'll meet next and where. We can even meet to just read. You can bring your own book, rent one from the facilitator for (10 euros refundable) or you can read it online (https://dn790002.ca.archive.org/0/items/east-of-eden_202007/East%20Of%20Eden.pdf) Who this is for: This is for you if you love great books! Cost: buy something at the cafe or leave a tip. Nothing is being sold, and there's no hidden agenda, participation going forward is optional. LOCATION for To receive messages from me for location or other changes, be sure the setting for that is enabled (or you can send me a message on this platform with your WhatsApp number and I can send it there). Go to your account's Settings in Profile, find Push Notifications or Email Updates and make sure "Messages - Email me when someone sends me a message" is on. You can turn any of the other ones on or off. Interesting but unessential information: Nobel Prize–winning author John Steinbeck often referred to East of Eden as his defining book.
