🎭 VALLESECO BRINGS ZARZUELA CLOSER TO NEW GENERATIONS The 14th Valleseco International Zarzuela Competition began its programme this Tuesday, 13 October, with an educational activity aimed at students from CEO Valleseco, bringing Spanish lyric music closer to the new generations through outreach, participation and live artistic experience. Under the title "Zarzuela for the Youngest", the students were able to discover the richness of this musical genre with the participation of Francisco Prendes, coordinator of educational and cultural activities at the Teatro de la Zarzuela; Jennibel Hernández, soprano; Acaymo García, tenor whose family has its roots in the municipality of Valleseco; and Alicia González, on piano. An initiative developed in collaboration with the Educational Department of the Teatro de la Zarzuela, which reinforces the Competition’s commitment to training new audiences and preserving our musical heritage. The participation of Acaymo García, moreover, has provided a special link with the municipality through his family roots in Valleseco. 🎶 And the programme continues… 📅 17 October, 6:00 p.m. Competition semifinal. 📅 18 October, 11:00 a.m. Grand final at the Dr. Juan Díaz Rodríguez Auditorium, with the Ensemble of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Isabel Costes, artistic director of the Competition, and with piano accompaniment by maestro Gonzalo Villaruel. 📅 19 October. Social action at the Valleseco care home for the elderly and start of the masterclasses for the participants. 📅 19 and 20 October. Training sessions with prominent lyric artists and members of the jury. 📅 20 October. Recitals and outreach activities in La Palma, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. 📅 23 October. Outreach activity and closing of the programme.
