Arguineguín and Playa de Mogán celebrate El Carmen from July 6 to August 2 The two images of the Virgin of Carmen will debut new vestments in the year of the proclamation of the Patron Saint of the Sea as perpetual mayoress of the municipality. The Romería-Ofrenda pilgrimage extends its route in response to residents’ requests. The mayoress of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, and the councillor for Culture and Festivals, Mencey Santana, presented this Wednesday the programme for the Fiestas del Carmen in Arguineguín, which will be held from July 6 to 19, and in Playa de Mogán, scheduled from July 16 to August 2. The programme combines tradition, devotion and leisure with such notable events as the Romería-Ofrenda pilgrimage, the land and sea processions, the proclamation of the Virgin of Carmen as perpetual mayoress of Mogán, as well as open-air dances, afternoon sessions, summer cinema, shows, children’s activities and proposals for the whole family.
