Forged Melodies, “Jazz for the Work of Martín Chirino”, is a multidisciplinary project in which the musician Takeo Takahashi presents jazz musical pieces inspired by the artistic legacy of sculptor Martín Chirino, creating an artistic dialogue between forms, spaces, times, structures, harmonies, and textures. Conscious composition contrasts with the interpretative approach of a contemporary jazz trio, in a musical space where improvisation introduces contributions born of spontaneity, thus invoking the free spirit of art. Starting from a selection of some of the artist’s most representative sculptures, the musician proposes an exploration of the expressive and technical parameters that define these languages, in order to discover emotional analogies and to invite Chirino’s spirit to resonate once again in the music.
