Chapter 1: Introduction to Sewing + Bag Creation PonyClub Studio is a creative and fashion teaching space in Santa Brígida, dedicated to connecting people who want to learn, experiment and create on the island. The project was founded by Lyelysianne, a fashion and print designer. She has lived in Italy, Madrid, Barcelona, London and now Gran Canaria. She is passionate about design in all its forms and, after working at Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, she is starting a new chapter on the island, eager to share knowledge and build community. Now, PonyClub and El Baladero are joining forces in a monthly collaboration to bring the PonyClub universe to El Bala once a month: a space to learn sewing, experiment with materials, create your own pieces and share processes in community. In this first chapter of the workshop, we will dive into the world of sewing from scratch: getting to know the machine, understanding the materials, learning basic techniques and starting to create with our own hands. During the session we will work on creating a bag, a simple and useful piece that you will be able to design, sew and take home with you when you finish. The idea is for this workshop to have continuity: a new chapter every month, so that sewing is not just a one-off activity, but a space to learn little by little, gain confidence, create new pieces and share knowledge. No previous experience is required. This workshop is designed for curious, creative people who want to start from the basics.
