🎬 Santa Brígida renews its commitment to mountain culture in 2026 by hosting the Mendi Tour Canarias. On Friday, October 9, from 8:00 p.m. onwards, the Centro Cultural de la Villa will once again be the venue for a selection of some of the most outstanding productions from Mendi Film, an international festival specializing in mountain, adventure and extreme sports cinema. ✍🏻 Admission is free. Reserve your ticket: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/cimagrancanaria/2388698 The programme for this fifth edition will bring the audience four works selected in the 2025 edition of the festival, offering different perspectives on the relationship between human beings and the mountain, exploration, risk, and major sporting challenges. The session will begin with “Eternal Solo”, a 31-minute production included in the Official Section of Mendi Film 2025. It will be followed by “Billy”, 33 minutes, also part of the Official Section. The programme will continue with “Izarren Zaunka”, 18 minutes, awarded Best Film in Euskara at Mendi Film 2025, and will conclude with “Trango”, a 45-minute production also included in the Official Section. The films will be screened in their original version and, when applicable, with Spanish subtitles, allowing audiences to enjoy stories from different places and cultures, all united by a common denominator: the mountain. 📷 Mountain photography The cultural offer linked to this new edition will be complemented by a photographic exhibition by the Grupo Montañero Gran Canaria, extending the presence of the mountain beyond the cinema screen. The exhibition can be visited from September 9 to 30 at the Biblioteca de Santa Brígida, and is an opportunity to get closer to the mountain from another perspective, through a way of understanding mountaineering that forms part of the sporting and social history of the island.
