Howie Reeve, Marcos García & Fajardo at La Juntadera
Details
Evening for six hands from three different geographical points that converge in a very special place: La Juntadera. Three voices and three unique ways of approaching musical composition. HOWIE REEVE is a unique and singular figure in the current British underground. After spending more than 20 years playing in several key Glasgow bands, since 2012 he has been playing solo accompanied by his inseparable acoustic bass, offering fragmented music of unusual dexterity that draws from post‑punk and avant‑folk. Turning increasingly to song-based composition, he captivates audiences with cryptic, intimate and unsettling lyrics. Decidedly fond of his DIY approach to music, he lives in Glasgow but seems to be perpetually on tour, whether in the UK, Europe or Japan." (Chris Joynes) MARCOS GARCÍA comes from a small town in north‑western Murcia: Bullas, where a river is born and the sunsets are covered with mountains of olive trees, almond trees and vineyards. This landscape has been essential in inspiring his music, along with a constant desire to discover diverse sounds and to trace the roots of the peoples he has met and the places where he has lived. On They will always be glorious birds, his first album, these influences coexist, ranging from intimacy to rock and electronic music. Live, his music finds a close expression in the dialogue between guitar and voice. Along the way, he has shared music with projects that move from ska and rock to folk music and singer‑songwriting. José Antonio FAJARDO comes from Fuerteventura and lives in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Since he embarked on his first tour of mainland Spain in 2009, his career has done nothing but mature towards what is non‑transferable, projected across several singles and splits – the latest of them together with the singer‑songwriter Arico, where they revisit Canarian folklore – an EP and four albums, his latest release being "Trecho" (2024).
