Apocalipsis con Mojo Picón – Book Presentation in Arucas
Details
An apocalypse with a Canary Islands stamp arrives at the Municipal Library of Arucas The writer from Arucas, Carlos J. Ramos Ferrero, will present on October 15, at 7:00 p.m., at the Municipal Library of Arucas, his project “Apocalipsis con Mojo Picón”, a unique creative universe that combines literature, dark humor, horror, action, music and numerous references to the identity and imagery of the Canary Islands. The proposal has as its starting point ¡Ños, cómo está Las Palmas!, a zombie apocalypse novel full of irony, absurd situations and recognizable characters, but behind this fiction lies a much deeper life experience. The author was inspired by his own experience during several years of fighting lymphoma and a subsequent autologous bone marrow transplant, transforming an especially tough period into a story built from imagination, humor and popular culture. “Reality was hard. I decided to turn it into a zombie apocalypse,” summarizes Ramos Ferrero, who has turned that experience into the seed of a project that goes beyond the pages of the book. The project is structured as a transmedia universe in which the novel serves as the gateway to other formats and content: heavy and punk music from the eighties, comics, illustrations, characters, digital materials, merchandising and a unique mascot in the shape of a pepper. The book will be distributed by Atlántida Distribuciones and already has a tour of presentations and signings in Teror, La Laguna, Arucas, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. With this initiative, created from Arucas, Carlos J. Ramos Ferrero turns a personal experience into an artistic project with a Canarian identity, where fiction, music and a sense of humor are used to address adversity.
