Join us for a modern-day version of an 18th-century salon. Engage in an evening of meaningful conversation without the usual small talk. A place to share personal stories and to learn from diverse ideas. Each time we pick a topic and frame the discussion around a few related questions. FREEDOM 🕊️ ‘Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves’ Abraham Lincoln 1\. What do you understand by freedom? do you think you're a free person? 2\. Is freedom individual or collective? Do we sacrifice freedom to belong or belonging make us more free? 3\. Can choosing family ever feel like a loss of freedom\, and why? Are there any unspoken family roles that limit or define personal freedom? 4\. How do political and sociological structures affect what we perceive as free will? 5\. How does access to education\, healthcare\, a high income or housing influence a person’s freedom? 6\. How do race\, gender\, or social class affect on freedom? 7\. What can we do as individuals and collectively to be more free? Bring a jacket or sweater if it’s cold… Hope to see many of you there, welcome! ⏰ FORMAT 17:00 - 17:10 - Welcome and introductory casual conversation 17:10 - 18:45 - Discussion guided by the event prompt questions 18:45 - 19:00 - We reassemble to sum up discussions and share thoughts or insights from the groups. 19:00 end of event (or let's stay and keep chatting!) 👀 WHAT'S THE VIBE Diverse: it's not rare to have people from all continents, as well as people from different ages, religions, ideologies, and backgrounds. Vulnerable: we value real conversations, personal stories and experiences. Casual: some people are having tea, others wine, some listen more, others talk more, some are talking notes, others are fully absorbed in conversation. 💰 PRICES In person events are organized for FREE. Of course\, before participating I was under the impression that one must have read tones of books\, possess a higher IQ or even a quiz master but frankly\, those qualities are not the ethos for LQA\. I personally learned that it’s about sharing\, coming together with all sorts of knowledge and having a growth mindset to learn and hear other people’s perspectives\.
