Raúl Quesada and Dani Sosa heading to Telde with Toñi Ponce Sport’s Hyundai i20 R5 The driver from Valleseco will contest the 50th Rally Ciudad de Telde this weekend, his first regional outing of the season, which comes on the back of the podiums achieved in the ‘Villa de Santa Brígida’ and ‘Isla de Gran Canaria’ rallies. For the Toñi Ponce Sport team, facing a strong entry list, it will be another opportunity to continue gaining experience in this category. After the good feeling they had at the conclusion of the 65th Rally Isla de Gran Canaria, Raúl Quesada and Dani Sosa will once again enjoy the performance of Toñi Ponce Sport’s Hyundai i20 R5. It will be at the 50th Rally Ciudad de Telde, a historic running of the island event that will take place this Friday and Saturday. Raúl Quesada arrives sitting in fourth place in the Las Palmas provincial championship. After taking part in two of the three rallies held so far, he is just three points away from the podium. Although, for budget reasons, that is not the team’s main objective, the truth is that it shows that the understanding between Quesada and the R5 has been gradually and successfully consolidating. Now, in a high-level ‘Telde’, he will have the chance, together with Dani Sosa, to continue adding experience at this level. “Competing in a rally of the regional championship is always an opportunity; in terms of impact, it’s a real showcase,” explains Raúl Quesada. “Once again, thanks to Toñi Ponce, to the sponsors and to my family for making it possible,” continued the driver from Valleseco. “Taking a look at the entry list, it’s going to be difficult here, if not impossible, to replicate a result like the previous ones. That, on the other hand, is going to free us from the specific pressure of a result, so our focus will be on continuing to learn, on continuing to evolve with such a spectacular machine as the Hyundai i20 R5,” said an excited Quesada ahead of this new participation in the top regional rally category. The 50th Rally Ciudad de Telde will start this Friday with the ‘Ciudad de Telde – 50 Aniversario’ stage (2.783 km at 21:30), and will wrap up its edition on Saturday with three runs through ‘Agüi
