Context: This workshop is held to commemorate the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste established by the United Nations. Main objectives: A) To raise public awareness about food loss and waste, advocating for the need for a profound change in our eating habits and associated culinary-gastronomic practices to avoid them, proposing three recipes as an example. B) To generate a cultural debate within the university community and society at large, within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Content and tools: 1. Contextualization of the topic. 2. On-site preparation of three basic recipes using local produce, explaining the trimmed or leftover ingredients used, led by an experienced chef (Samuel López Peña). 3. Debate. Organized by: Office of the Vice-Rector for Culture, Sport and Society through its Cultural Classroom Science & Gastronomy / HUB GastroFood ULPGC. In collaboration with FUNDACIÓN DISA.
