In Medias Res – Promuscan
Details
"In medias res" – "in the midst of things" – alludes to that which is in full development. Under this idea, the Septeto Lothar Siemens performs a programme dedicated to Canary Island male and female composers who, after a solid career, continue to enrich our musical heritage with new creations. With this concert, PROMUSCAN reaffirms its commitment to those who, from artistic maturity, continue to contribute actively to the construction and renewal of the musical culture of the Canary Islands. This concert, the second we are holding in 2026, seeks to acknowledge and support the immeasurable work of our male and female composers who, after an already consolidated career, continue enriching the musical heritage of the Canary Islands with new creations. Their works help shape the cultural bedrock of our land and project it into the future. Among them we find authors who enjoy wide recognition, as well as others who, despite the quality and solidity of their creative work, have not yet achieved the same regional, national, or international visibility. However, beyond the degree of exposure each one has attained, all are part of a single creative community whose dedication is essential to keeping Canary culture alive and in constant renewal. With this concert, PROMUSCAN embodies its commitment to those who find themselves in a mature stage of their artistic journey: creators who move forward driven both by accumulated experience and by the ongoing desire to continue exploring new horizons. They are the ones who inhabit that intermediate space between what has already been accomplished and what is still to come, that in medias res where creation remains open, active, and in constant transformation. 1.
