Details
The Young Orchestra of Gran Canaria presents a new summer tour. * Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The Young Orchestra of Gran Canaria, under the direction of David Hernández, takes on another ambitious step in its trajectory this summer with the tour "Buscando América" (Searching for America). The program offers a musical journey across the American continent, from north to south, through works of great stylistic variety. The concert will include Short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams, Huapango by José Pablo Moncayo, Hoe-Down by Aaron Copland, Danzón No. 2 by Arturo Márquez, and a selection of the Symphonic Dances from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein. The program will also feature a selection from the Clarinet Concerto No. 2 by Carl Maria von Weber, in which clarinetist Teo Rivero will appear as soloist. In addition, Danzón No. 2 will include a specific staged concept created by choreographers Martin Buczko and Soraya Bruno. This intervention will incorporate choreographed movements performed by the musicians themselves, together with a lighting design and various stage elements that will enrich the performance of this work.
