Tasartico celebrates its festivities in honour of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga and Tasarte celebrates its own in honour of Saint John with a wide programme of tradition, music and community life The neighbourhood of Tasartico is getting ready to experience intensely its festivities in honour of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga. The programme will start this 19 June with a performance by Parranda Amigos de Tejeda at 7:30 p.m., followed by the opening address of the festivities, which this year will be given by Mrs. Marilín Santana Segura. The day will continue with a mariachi performance, a popular community barbecue and the musical performance of the group Aimar, kicking off a weekend marked by a festive atmosphere and strong participation from local residents. On 20 June, the day will begin with activities aimed at the whole family, including children's games from 10:30 a.m. and a three-way "zanga" card tournament from 11:00 a.m. In the afternoon, at 7:00 p.m., the traditional "Bajada de La Rama" will take place, one of the most representative and eagerly awaited events of the festivities. The night will culminate with a big popular open-air dance enlivened by the bands Son de La Isla and Son Aldea. That same day, the neighbourhood of Tasarte will also host the pilgrimage-offering in honour of Saint John the Baptist from 7:00 p.m. The celebration will continue with the traditional Baile de Taifas from 10:30 p.m., featuring performances by the parrandas El Mejunge, El Pajullo and La Pulvajera. On 21 June, the main day of the festivities of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga will be celebrated with a solemn mass and subsequent procession through the streets of the neighbourhood, accompanied by the Pasión de La Aldea concert band. The festive programme will continue on 23 June with the celebration of Saint John’s Eve. From 7:00 p.m. there will be another "Bajada de La Rama" and, afterwards, a popular open-air dance enlivened by the bands Último que Cierre, Estrella Latina and Son Aldea. Finally, on 24 June, at 11:00 a.m., mass and a procession in honour of Saint John the Baptist will be held.
