The 25th Seniors Gathering “City of #Arucas” will be held on 19 June as part of the Patron Saint Festivities of San Juan Bautista 2026 Next Friday, 19 June, the 25th Seniors Gathering “City of Arucas” will take place, an event that has already become a fixture within the Patron Saint Festivities of San Juan Bautista 2026, bringing together numerous senior citizens from the municipality for a day of fellowship, culture, and recognition. The programme will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Plaza de San Juan, where the public will be able to enjoy a musical performance by “Los Cantadores”, in a festive atmosphere designed for the enjoyment and tribute to older people. In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., the Nuevo Teatro Viejo will host a performance by the Arucas Seniors Folkloric Group. Afterwards, the play “Pedro y las maduritas de oro” (“Pedro and the Golden Ladies”), written and directed by Lolo A. Martín and performed by the theatre group from the Seniors Centre “Los Jubilosos”, will be staged. On the programme #lasmañanasdearucas on #radioarucas, the Councillor for Senior Citizens, María Dolores Aguilar Rosales, together with Orlando Henríquez and Margarita Velázquez, members of “Los Jubilosos”, as well as the author of the play himself, Lolo A.
